Active and Culture Travels

Active experience of nature and cultures
… travelling with us means adventure and authentic encounters.

"Travel is the best means
for self-education."

Karl Julius Weber

Experience nature and cultural encounters with all senses

Are you interested in animals and plants on safari as well as in the people of this multifaced country? We can put together a combination tour for you.

Let us take you away to a world that is foreign to us. Numerous ethnic groups with very different cultures and languages that our ears have never heard before. Unknown customs and mysterious rituals… exotic dishes that our palate has never tasted before… over 125 ethnic groups and languages in Tanzania… there are so many interesting things to discover.

Visit villages of different ethnic groups with your guide and accompany the last bushmen of Tanzania, the “Hadzabe”, in their hunting with bow and arrow.

Visit with us an orphanage, a school, a traditional market, a guided coffee plantation, a brickyard, a banana beer or sugar cane beer brewery and and and …

Our local, expert guides will introduce you to the different cultures and will be happy to answer your questions.

Should your trip be designed with sporty and active elements? Would you like to be close to nature and experience it with all your senses? Do you like a fresh breeze around your nose and feel your body?

Depending on your wishes, we can organize enjoyable hikes up to a strenuous Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru ascent as well as mountain bike tours for all requirements.

We listen to you and will be happy to put together an individual tour for you, tailored to your wishes and ideas.

After breakfast your friendly driver/guide will pick you up at your hotel in Arusha. On the way to Tarangire National Park you can already get first impressions of the life of the Masai. The people living from cattle breeding graze their cows and goats in the wide savannah landscape and live in small village communities along the way. The Tarangire National Park has a very high animal density and is home to ancient, gigantic baobab trees, which form the fascinating picture-book landscape. In the summer months this incredibly beautiful national park is home to huge herds of elephant and buffalo. In the dry season, numerous animals such as antelopes, gazelles, zebras, giraffes, wildebeests and even lions gather here to drink at the Tarangire River, which always has water. A beautiful and interesting spectacle. Spend the night in the Tarangire Simba Lodge with pool and exchange your experiences around the campfire in the evening.
(-/L/D | Drive Arusha – Tarangire National Park (approx. 2 hours) | Game drive Tarangire National Park | Overnight stay: Tarangire Simba Lodge)

Day 2: Lake Manyara National Park
The small but beautiful Lake Manyara National Park captivates with its varied landscapes. The park is also known for its tree-climbing lions. After the game drive, the trail takes you through the scenic Ngorongoro Highlands with its magnificent views. Have your camera ready. Arriving in the lively town of Karatu, you will explore the streets and the market together with your guide. Dive into the world of the locals. There are many interesting things to see. Now it is time for an extensive game drive through the endless plains of the savannah. In the Central Serengeti there are many resident animals such as elephants, giraffes, lions, cheetahs, leopards, buffalo, ostriches, gazelles and antelopes and many more to see all year round. If you are lucky, you may encounter the Big Five in the Serengeti. Especially interesting in this region are the rock formations, also called “Kopjes”, where you often see cats of prey looking for prey. What a beautiful photo motif. Approximately 2 million wildebeests and 300,000 zebras are on their annual migration in search of nutritious grasses. With a little luck you can experience an exciting crossing of the Mara River here. Every year the voracious crocodiles wait patiently for this festive feast. Visit the funeral monument of Dr. Grzimek at the crater rim and marvel (at the magnificent view over the crater from the lookout point), before descending on the steep and winding road about 500 meters in altitude down to the crater floor. The edges of the crater are covered with bush and heathland and evergreen mountain forests. The bottom of the crater measures about 20 km in diameter and is covered by short grass savannah, acacia forests. In the soda-rich Lake Magadi one can often meet hippos, flamingos and other water birds. With its very high animal density it is unique in this world. Here you have a very good chance to see the rare rhinos. Spend the night in the beautiful Ngorongoro Farm House, which is idyllically embedded in the hilly hinterland of Karatu.
