Yes. From 1 October 2026, every foreign visitor entering Mainland Tanzania needs the government Inbound Travel Insurance from the National Insurance Corporation (NIC). Travellers without it can be refused entry.

  • Cost: USD 44 per visitor
  • Valid: up to 92 days, with multiple entries
  • Covers: emergency medical care, evacuation, repatriation and lost luggage
  • Which policy: arriving via Kilimanjaro, Dar es Salaam or a land border, buy NIC. Arriving via Zanzibar, buy ZIC. One policy covers the whole trip.

Buy it online before you fly at inbound.nicinsurance.co.tz and keep the certificate on your phone to save time at the arrival desk. This policy does not replace your own full travel insurance.

Yes. At Isimila Tanzania Adventures, we create personalised itineraries around your travel dates, budget, interests, and preferred accommodation. Whether you want wildlife, cultural experiences, or a safari followed by a beach holiday, we can help you plan your journey.

Tanzania welcomes safari travellers all year round. December to March offers lush scenery, with wildebeest calving typically occurring from January to March in the southern Serengeti and Ngorongoro. April and May bring greener landscapes and quieter parks, while June to October generally offers drier conditions and excellent wildlife viewing.

November is a rewarding time to visit, with fresh greenery as the short rains arrive.

Every season offers something special. We will help you choose the right destinations and itinerary for your preferred travel dates.

For a first safari, we recommend around five to seven days to explore several of Tanzania’s national parks at a comfortable pace. Shorter safaris can offer rewarding wildlife experiences, while longer itineraries give you more time to explore each destination and enjoy the surroundings. We tailor every journey to your interests and available time.

The Great Migration follows a year-round cycle, with the herds moving according to rainfall and grazing conditions. Calving typically takes place around January to March in the southern Serengeti and Ngorongoro. Mara River crossings are generally associated with July to October in the northern Serengeti. Exact timing varies, and crossings cannot be guaranteed.

Tanzania is home to lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino. Your chances depend on the parks visited, time spent on safari, and wildlife movements. We plan routes that offer rewarding viewing opportunities, but sightings of individual animals cannot be guaranteed.

No. Our safaris are private: you travel only with your own group, in an Isimila Toyota Land Cruiser with a pop-up roof for game viewing, guided by your own driver-guide. This means the route, pace and time spent at each sighting are planned around you.

If you are travelling alone and would like to keep costs down, let us know when you enquire and we will advise on the options available for your dates.

The cost of a Tanzania safari depends on your travel season, trip length, number of travellers, accommodation level, the parks you visit and your transport arrangements. Prices per person are usually lower for larger groups, as vehicle and guide costs are shared.

You can see the starting price for each itinerary on our Safaris page. For an exact figure, share your preferred dates, group size and budget through our enquiry form or on WhatsApp, and we will prepare a personalised quotation.

Your safari quotation will clearly detail what is included, such as accommodation, meals, park fees, professional guiding, transport, and non-alcoholic refreshments, including water and soda. Domestic flights, transfers, and activities will be included where specified in your itinerary.

International flights are generally booked separately, but we are happy to assist with arranging them on request. Any exclusions, such as visas, travel insurance, alcoholic drinks, tips, and optional excursions, will be clearly outlined so you can plan your trip with confidence.

Depending on your itinerary and budget, accommodation may include safari lodges, tented camps, and hotels. Tented camps range from simpler options to comfortable properties with proper beds and en-suite facilities. Your itinerary will identify the accommodation proposed for your trip.

A safari can be a memorable family experience. Tell us your children’s ages so we can recommend suitable accommodation, manageable driving distances, and an appropriate pace. Some properties and activities have minimum-age restrictions.
